Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for Prince Edward Island.
Today, Tuesday and Wednesday will see a very warm airmass move into the Maritimes, bringing with it daytime highs of 28 to 30 C. Humidex values are expected to reach anywhere from 37 to 41 C.
Temperatures overnight aren’t expected to drop below 20 C, and will be warmest Tuesday and Wednesday nights, providing little relief from the heat. Conditions are expected to improve on Thursday.
Watch for effects of heat illness:
- heat exhaustion
- heat stroke
- worsening of some health conditions
Reduce heat risk by scheduling outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day, and never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
