The North Rustico Lions Club has announced that the special musical guest for Tuesday evening’s pig & whistle will be a group headlined by a man affectionately known as the granddaddy of rock ’n’ roll, Niall MacKay.
For over 50 years MacKay has been a constant performer on Island stages, most notably in the early years with the Island’s first rock ’n’ roll band, The Tremtones. He loves music and loves to entertain, and the venerable musician can get folks on the dance floor all night long.
He will be joined on stage by some of his musical friends, including Jimi Platts on lead guitar and vocals, Heartz Godkin on bass guitar, Brian Blacquiere on fiddle, banjo and rhythm guitar and Brian Knox on drums.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission with a 7:30 p.m. showtime. There will be a bar service offered by the North Rustico Lions club, as well as a 50/50 draw in support of various Island charities. For information, call Knox at 902-569-3327.
